Several factors can influence its size, such as: age, race and weight. Prostatic diseases are common in dogs, developing after sexual maturity. Among the diseases that most affect dogs are: cysts, prostatitis, abscesses, neoplasms and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is the most frequent. Prostatic neoplasms, although less frequent, are highly malignant and a late diagnosis is associated with a poor prognosis. The present work aimed to demonstrate the different aspects of the prostate of dogs, evaluated through imagology. And to compare the use of ultrasound and radiology for the diagnosis of prostatic diseases.
