The etiology of SCC is considered multifactorial, and the majority of lesions are associated with hairless and/or depigmented regions and excessive sun exposure with high local ultraviolet radiation. Macroscopically, this neoplasm may have ulcerations, granulation tissue, a cauliflower appearance or be a firm mass, and invasive growth. The most effective treatment is complete removal of the neoplasm, however, when it is not possible to do so, there is therapeutic treatment. The present work reports a case of a horse, female, 11 years old, chestnut coat, Breton, which was treated at the Veterinary Hospital Dr. Vicente Borelli UNIFEOB. The animal had a neoformation in the ocular region and presented acute abdomen syndrome during treatment, which led to the decision to perform euthanasia.
