It shows multisystemic signs in the dog, but the main report is lameness, due to polyarthritis. Its diagnosis of choice is the enzyme immunoassay, indirect ELISA along with clinical signs. Prophylaxis consists of avoiding contact with the tick in endemic areas and in these regions it is also possible to institute the use of the vaccine.
