With the end of the war, the product was used and known as pesticide or phytosanitary products. Once used in agricultural systems, pesticides remain in food even after washing. Uncontrolled ingestion of these substances can lead to several diseases, including: Cancer; Paralysis; Neurological problems; Breathing difficulties; Skin irritations; Allergies; Miscarriage and malformation of the fetus, as well as causing numerous damage to the environment. It is for these ills and others still unknown that alternative methods of agricultural production without the use of pesticides are increasingly being sought and developed. Foods produced from this idea have several benefits such as: safer foods and free from chemical contamination that can cause health damage; more nutritious foods that preserve their properties that are not lost in the production process; and more sustainable production with no soil contamination, reduced use of non-renewable energy sources and reduced waste production.
