Its occurrence is due to the ingestion of moldy cereals contaminated by the fungus Fusarium moliniforme. The lesions are characterized by necrosis of the white matter in the brain. The main symptoms are: indifference of the animal to the environment, anorexia, blindness, difficulty in walking, among others. The signs appear within a few hours to a month after ingestion of the agent, and the animal's death may occur on the second or third day. Recoveries are rare, but when they do occur they leave serious sequelae, such as dementia and poor proprioceptive functions.Acesso AbertoMedicina VeterináriaLeucoencefalomaláciaFusarium moliniformeFumonisinasCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIASLeucoencefalomalácia equinaArtigo de Evento
