The process of aging causes morphological and physiological changes and, consequently, the decrease functional capacities of the elderly, compromising the neuromuscular system and making it difficult performing activities of daily living. Functional training (TF) has gained prominence and attracted a large number of fans for providing improvement in the neuromuscular system, improving motor coordination, balance, resistance, flexibility, among others physical capabilities. Therefore, this study seeks to analyze, through a review bibliography, the information available in the literature on the subject.
