Abstract

Alcoa is one of the three largest aluminum companies in the world, joining with Alcan and Rusal, its headquarters are in the United States. It is currently distributed in 44 countries. Operating in Brazil since 1965, it is responsible for 20% of aluminum production, it is a company dedicated to shared and sustainable development. It has operations in several links in the aluminum production chain, from bauxite mining, to the refining of alumina, production of aluminum ingots and powder - among all units in the world, these are produced only in Brazil. It works with shared development based on excellence and operational safety, economic performance, social impact and environmental protection, striving to build a better future. Founded in 1965, the primary aluminum plant in Poços de Caldas (MG), was Alcoa's first unit in Brazil.
