Abstract

Over time, swine breeding has gained great space in the market and with this expansion, good management has been prioritized, always aiming at animal welfare, such actions have had a great impact on production results, especially in swine farming. The maternity and day care phases, when they are negatively affected, trigger a significant drop in productivity and, consequently, an economic loss. The lack of attention to certain details, such as those inherent to nutrition and management, can compromise production efficiency. When the animal is subjected to a stressful environment, the mortality rate increases and consequently there is a decrease in productivity and economic loss.
