Cotton is the common name given to several species of the botanical genus
Gossypium Hirsutum L. From the Malvaceae family.
There are about 40 species, shrubs, native to subtropical and tropical regions.
Cotton is a shrub widely cultivated all over the world, first of all for its fiber and in

small farmers, showing itself as a potential crop to be inserted in crop rotation
contributing to the sustainable exploitation of the cultivation area. Belonging to the Malvaceae family, it is a plant
angiosperm, dicotyledonous, native to Asia and Africa.
