Abstract
Canine ehrlichiosis is a multi-systemic disease of great importance in Veterinary Medicine. Transmission occurs through the tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus. The clinical signs vary according to the phase they are in: acute, subclinical or chronic. Myocarditis is usually seen in the chronic phase of the infection. The present report aims to describe the occurrence of myocarditis diagnosed in histopathological examination after necropsy, in a dog infected with Erlichia canis treated at the veterinary hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University Center of the Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos.
