Abstract

The IGP-M is an index that measures price variation, that is, whether there is inflation or deflation in the analysis period. It has the same objective as the IPCA. However, the latter is considered the official measure of price behavior in Brazil. In general, the IGP-M is a more comprehensive index to measure inflation.
