Abstract

Leptospirosis is a contagious infectious disease that has acute or chronic contagion, caused by bacteria from the Leptospiraceae family, infecting domestic animals, wild animals and humans, with an unapparent clinical evolution or an evolution characterized by: anemia, fever, jaundice, hemoglobinuria and abortion. Leptospirosis is caused by serovars of Leptospira interrogans, a spirochete, mobile and filamentous, which spreads through carrier animals that eliminate microorganisms in the urine for months to years after infection.
