Abstract

Total intravenous anesthesia in equine species as well as field procedures are currently gaining ground in veterinary medicine because they prove to be safe, practical and low cost procedures, making it feasible without having to move the animal to specialized centers containing anesthesia devices. inhalation. Thus, it ensures diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures such as castrations, tenotomies, splint removal and repair of lacerations in a safe manner for the animal and the acting Veterinarian, remembering that it is extremely important to be aware of the place to be performed. In a way that is comfortable and maintains the physical integrity of the animal, the drugs of choice as well as doses and concentrations for smooth and stress-free recovery and injury, patient monitoring is critical as the animal will not be intubated or given ventilatory support.
