Abstract

Soybean (Glycine max L) cultivated in Brazil for grain production, is a herbaceous plant, class Rosideae, order Fabales, family Fabaceae (legumes), subfamily Papilionoideae, tribe Phaseoleae, genus Glycine L., species max. (EMBRAPA). It is also considered an oilseed plant as it has 18% to 20% oil content in its seeds. It is a grain rich in proteins and can be consumed by both men and animals.
