Abstract

Endometrial Cystic Hyperplasia is a common pathology of whole dogs from six years of age. It is associated with chronic exposure to progesterone after heat, or the exogenous application of progestin-based contraceptives and is characterized by an increase in the uterus wall and the presence of cysts that are readily seen in the ultrasound examination, which has shown to be a fast and highly sensitive for diagnosis. In the case reported, the animal presented an excessive abdominal bulging and ultrasonographically presented a uterus extending from the epigastric region to the hypogastric region.
