Abstract

Sage (Salvia Officinalis L.) originates in southern Europe and Mediterranean, belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is widely used in medicine, cooking and cosmetics production. A survey by the WHO reported that 80% of the population of underdeveloped countries use plants medicinal products as a primary health treatment, using its extracts and active principles as a form of medication (Farnsworth et al., 1991). the sage It has several therapeutic actions, among them: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antinociceptive (ZIGIOTTO, 2007).
