| dc.description.abstract | The concept of living pharmacy is quite comprehensive, studying and caring for plants in practice for their medicinal and academic use is of great importance in promoting health; the origanum vulgare was used for the study, popularly known as Oregano, which originated from the lamiaceae family. Oregano has antioxidant characteristics due to its chemical composition: essential oil (0.15%-0.90%) in the dry plant, its main constituents being phenols: carvacrol, thymol, Y-terpene and p amene, which may vary according to with the locality where it was cultivated. | dc.description.resumo | O conceito de farmácia viva é bastante abrangente, estudar e cuidar de plantas na prática para o seu uso de forma medicinal e acadêmico, tem grande importância na promoção a saúde; foi utilizado o origanum vulgare para o estudo, conhecido popularmente como Orégano, que foi originado da família lamiaceae. O orégano possui características antioxidantes devido à sua composição química: óleo essencial (0,15%-0,90%) na planta seca, sendo seus principais constituintes os fenóis: carvacrol, timol, Y-terpeno e p ameno, podendo variar de acordo com a localidade onde foi cultivada.
