Orégano (Origanum vulgare)

Abstract

The concept of living pharmacy is quite comprehensive, studying and caring for plants in practice for their medicinal and academic use is of great importance in promoting health; the origanum vulgare was used for the study, popularly known as Oregano, which originated from the lamiaceae family. Oregano has antioxidant characteristics due to its chemical composition: essential oil (0.15%-0.90%) in the dry plant, its main constituents being phenols: carvacrol, thymol, Y-terpene and p amene, which may vary according to with the locality where it was cultivated.
