Abstract

Obesity is a serious chronic disease whose main characteristic is the excessive accumulation of body fat, responsible for compromising an individual's health. Abdominal obesity: as fat is distributed in the upper part of the body (mainly in the abdomen and waist region), this type is associated with a high risk of acquiring cardiovascular diseases. Peripheral obesity: being the fat located in the lower part of the body, this type of obesity is associated with venous insufficiency and varicose veins, osteoarthritis in the knees and also an increased risk of heart disease and diabetes. Homogeneous obesity: there is no predominance of fat in a certain area is distributed throughout the body
