Prevenção, intervenção e promoção frente às dificuldades de adaptação dos estudantes universitários

Abstract

Due to the high degree of stress involved in the academic environment, common mental disorders (CMD) and Academic Burnout are increasingly common in the academic population, presenting themselves as an aggravating factor in graduation completion. They are associated with decreased quality of life, relationship problems and psychological distress. Studies that investigate the prevalence of CMD are usually focused on the occupational, academic and health fields. The survey, carried out by the Psychology course, focused on Physiotherapy students, indicates that between 27.8% and 44.4% of their samples present some type of mental stress, depression or anxiety. The aim of the present study is to identify these issues, using the DASS-21 scale, among Physiotherapy students at the Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos. This is a survey carried out from April to June 2022, with 17 students from the first and fifth module of the Physiotherapy course.
