Abstract
Canine papillomatosis is an infectious disease caused by the virus of the genus Papillomavirus and family Popillomaviridae. Cutaneous lesions are identified as benign, exophytic, verrucous tumor masses in most cases, compared to the cauliflower shape in the cutaneous, ocular and especially oral region. The transmission of the disease occurs through direct or indirect contact with secretions and/or blood from the papillomas present in infected animals. The treatment of papillomatosis is carried out through different therapeutic protocols that are instituted when the lesions do not present spontaneous healing, such as cryotherapy, electrosurgery, surgical removal, autohemotherapy, autovaccines, chemotherapy,
immunostimulants and homeopathic drugs, including the study of integrative therapies, among them, the use of phytotherapics through the medicinal plant Thuya occidentalis, an outstanding action
for its successful therapeutic result in canine papillomatosis.
