Abstract

This his literature review aims to describe the food and reproductive management of Trinca-Ferro (Saltator similis) in captivity, about 10,000 species of birds, of which almost a third occur in South America, considered the continent of birds. Brazil is recognized for its mega diversity, currently occupies the second place in numbers of bird species, with 1,822 species. The creation of Trinca-Ferro (Saltator similis) has been one of the greatest passions for bird breeders across Brazil. The bird has the characteristic of being very brave and of a lot of fiber, easy to read, excellent adaptation. Due to its strong and melodious singing, much appreciated by breeders, the natural populations of S. similis have been gradually decimated by the illegal traffic of wild animals. . This species can also be known in certain regions such as Pixarro, Estevão, Bico-de-Ferro, Tico-Tico Guloso, Trinca-Ferro-de-asa-verde, João Velho.
