Abstract

IGP-M is a monthly price indicator used to measure inflation and is composed of the weighting of three other indices, which are IPA, IPC and INCC. the IGP-M is calculated by Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), a private institution. The value of this index is not usually close to the market, as it is a general price index, influencing those who work in industries that may have their production affected by the fluctuation of the dollar.
