Piodermatite Profunda: relato de caso

Abstract

Deep pyoderma is a dermatological condition increasingly present in the veterinary clinical routine, caused by a pyogenic infection of bacterial origin. This paper describes a case of deep pyoderma in an eight-year-old, mixed-breed bitch, who had skin complaints since she was four years old, with a history of unresponsive treatments. The animal had alopecic areas, hyperpigmentation, papules, pustules, hyperkeratosis and generalized desquamation. The diagnosis was confirmed through histopathological examination, which indicated the presence of cellulitis, furunculosis and folliculitis, so the treatment consisted of antibiotic therapy, whose clinical improvement was significant.
