Abstract

The teacher's attitude was incorrect, as he should have tried to find out what was happening. The student did not have a particular problem as mentioned, she felt offended, so the teacher should listen to the student and talk to the class. Student Cátia may have been bullied, and such bad jokes could cause psychological damage. The teacher must always listen to students and advise them not to offend others, regardless of religion, color, race, creed. What cannot happen is for the teacher to ignore the facts. The role of a teacher in proposing attitudinal content is, at least, to show coherence between his speech and his actions.
