Abstract
Demodicosis (demodectic mange, follicular mange or red mange) is an inflammatory cutaneopathy, characterized by an abnormal increase in the number of Demodex canis mites on the skin and hair follicles. The cause of mite proliferation is uncertain, but genetic susceptibility and disorders of an immunological nature seem to be the main reasons for its growth. The disease occurs in two forms: localized and generalized.
