O Projeto Integrado é uma estratégia didática de ensino–aprendizagem cujo objetivo é materializar a interdisciplinaridade entre os saberes abordados durante o curso. Organizados em módulos temáticos, com eixos condutores que integram as unidades de estudo de cada período de oferta. Essas unidades, articuladas, geram o Projeto Integrado (PI) que permite ao estudante colocar em prática as competências que se pretende desenvolver em cada módulo.

    The present work portrays the subject of mental health and its importance in terms of institutions involving children and adolescents. The objectives pursued with this work were to analyze how important it is to understand the needs of those involved (children and adolescents) due to exposure to traumas in childhood and adolescence, such as physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect, and to intervene with them in order to to provide them with a better quality of life.

    Human development does not happen in isolation, this process requires external factors contributing to it happening in a beneficial way and according to the subject's needs. On the other hand, social vulnerability is in the opposite direction, as an obstacle that prevents individuals exposed to it from being able to get rid of the prejudice linked to their conditions, influencing various fields of the subject's life, including mental health. The following work exposes the concept and the different forms of vulnerability, mental health and human development, also considering the family perspective and the possibilities of prevention. After observation at the study site, the intervention was applied in order to improve the behavior and expression of emotions of the children involved.

    This work had the ideal of exposing the informative and introductory analysis focusing on children and adolescents exposed to socioeconomic vulnerability, analyzing the consequences that they can entail and aspects that influence physical and psychological weakening, with the objective of carrying out an observation and develop a psychoeducational intervention in children and adolescents, leading to improvements in their mental and physical health, carried out in a religious institution in the interior of São Paulo.

    In recent years, a new paradigm in mental health has emerged, a more comprehensive, contextualized view that maintains its focus on health and distances itself from a reductionist, institutionalizing approach that evidenced its practices in the disease, which considers the human being in its entirety taking into account the physical, psychological and social aspects. In this sense, prevention and health promotion practices gain strength and aim to enhance psychological health and prevent possible manifestations of problems associated with them.

    It is in childhood where much of our development takes place; in this stage the first social interactions occur, personality construction, improvement of the body and emotions, etc. Therefore, children, as well as adults, are also susceptible to developing psychological disorders. That's why the relevance of observing the mental health of little ones, after all, the way we grow can define who we will be in the future.
