Faced with this scenario, many families opt for a more practical solution, sending this elderly person to permanent shelter institutions. Institutionalization is often traumatic for the elderly, due to the absence of family members and is often done involuntarily, given this scenario; The presence of psychologists in institutions is very important, as they seek interventions for the well-being of the elderly and develop social skills; The elderly have good relationships among residents and excellent development of daily activities. However, there is a feeling of abandonment towards family members, as many elderly people were placed in an LTCF against their will. Due to the family's conditions, they cannot take care of the elderly person who may be very weak. Therefore, the relevance of this project consists of obtaining information about institutionalized elderly people and their vision of what it is like to be in this situation, being able to contribute to other students and professionals, as well as contributing to the elderly. Our objective is to identify the psychological profile of institutionalized elderly people and their needs, in addition to their relationships with their families, their feelings arising from the loss of autonomy when changing their routine to a new environment.

- Item A importância do saber ouvir na Psicologia(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-06-30) LAGE, Augusto do Amaral; REVOREDO, Gabriela Aparecida; PRADO, Gabriela Palhares Mussi Vieira; DIAS, Karla Cristine Figueiredo; FARIA, Luci de Cássia; BUENO, Leonor CristinaActive listening (a skill that we intend to develop through this project) brings closer ties between individuals, as the individuality of the person and their experiences is perceived, but in some cases there is a personal identification with the content treated by who produces the speech, generating greater identification and a form of mirroring between individuals, thus with greater proximity, both can welcome each other in a better way and understand the context of each other's experience, being a treatment, or rather a unique relationship between them. It is about greater humanization in the experience between individuals. In psychoanalysis there is a certain mode of active listening, as there is free speech and listening between the analyst and the patient, which is not so recent, but nowadays there is greater discussion about the implementation of the practice in other areas of health. In addition to listening, it is necessary to align it with observation techniques, which presents the way in which the messages brought by the interviewee were collected, since the work takes place around the rural man.
