Item Enriquecimento ambiental para animais selvagens em cativeiro(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) CHIARI, Aline I.; FERREIRA, Edma L. F.; OLIVEIRA, Noemi M.; RODRIGUES, Tais F.; MANÇANARES, Celina Almeida FurlanettoThe maintenance of wild animals in captivity is an important tool for the conservation of the species, however, this environment can compromise the well-being of the animals. It must be ensured that the enclosure provides a quality of life at least similar to what it would have in its natural habitat. Having proper management is essential for a good quality of life, we must cherish their well-being, not allowing prey to have visual, olfactory and auditory contact with predators, water available at all times, among others. Environmental enrichment is a fundamental tool to maintain quality of life, as it aims to encourage these animals to behave similarly to those they would have in nature, even in captivity. Currently, free-ranging animals go through many difficulties, caused mainly by us, with that, more and more animals are arriving in Zoos and end up joining the squad, so Zoos invest a lot in research and development of new techniques to improve the quality of life for these animals and make their lives better in captive environments.Item Influência do ciclo estral sobre o comportamento no labirinto em cruz elevado em ratas nulíparas e primíparas submetidas ao estresse(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2011-05-30) SOUZA NETO, José Roberto de; ZIMBERKNOPF, ÉricaPrevious studies with rodents have shown reproductive experience (pregnancy, childbirth and lactation), can alter the sensitivity to anxiety and stress. In this sense, a reduction in anxiety in the elevated plus-maze has already been observed in experienced females. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of stress in nulliparous and primiparous rats at various stages of the estrous cycle. Two groups of individuals will be generated, a group of primiparous women (n = 8; gestation + 21 days of lactation) and a group of nulliparous women (n = 8) matched by age. After obtaining the females, the experimental groups will be subjected to stress by containment for 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for rest, and soon after subjected to the behavioral assessment in the elevated plus maze for 5 min. The retest will be performed 24 hours after the initial test. The experimental procedures will be performed in 3 phases of the estrous cycle: proestrus, estrus and metestrus, in groups of different nulliparous and primiparous females (n = 48). This research project aims to continue previous studies in our laboratory about reproductive experience and its relationship with anxiety and stress.Item Influência da fase do ciclo estral sobre a secreção de prolactina induzida por estresse agudo em ratas nulíparas e primíparas(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2011-05-30) SILVA Flávia Martins da; ZIMBERKNOPF, ÉricaProlactin is the hormone classically related to the development of the mammary glands during pregnancy and postpartum milk production. The release of this adenohypophyseal hormone may be affected by stress, thus resulting in increased production. Physiological factors such as reproductive experience, sum of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation, and the stage of the estrous cycle also has an action on prolactin secretion, reducing its serum concentration. In previous studies, we observed that the reproductive experience is able to modulate the release of prolactin in response to acute stress and that this fact is related to the type of stress applied in rats. In this context, the objective of this work is to study the influence of the estrous cycle on serum prolactin concentrations during the first hour of acute stress induction in primiparous and nulliparous rats.Item Efeito do estresse sobre a secreção de prolactina em ratas nulíparas e primíparas no estro(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2011-05-30) CARLOS, Camila Zeferino; ZIMBERKNOPF, EricaThe reproductive experience (set of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation), is associated with changes in hormone secretion, reducing hormones such as steroids and prolactin. Prolactin plays an important role in the reproductive process, especially in lactation, controlling the production and composition of milk. This hormone responds to stressful stimuli, and its response is dependent on blood prolactin concentrations before stress. The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of stress on prolactin secretion in nulliparous and primiparous rats during estrus, continuing our studies.Item Efeito do Diazepam em ratas nulíparas e primíparas submetidas ao estresse por contenção(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2010-05-30) SOUZA NETO, José Roberto de; HUCKE, Érica Elgelberg Teixeira da SilvaBenzodiazepines are often prescribed for their anxiolytic and hypnotic effects. Previous studies with rodents have shown reproductive experience (pregnancy, childbirth and lactation), can alter the sensitivity to certain drugs, including diazepam. At the same time, it has been shown that a reduction in anxiety in the elevated plus-maze in experienced females. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the influence of diazepam in nulliparous and primiparous rats subjected to stress. Two groups of individuals will be generated, a group of primiparous women (gestation + 21 days of lactation) and matched for age, the group of nulliparous women. After obtaining nulliparous and primiparous females, the experimental groups will be subjected to stress by containment for 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for rest, and soon after subjected to the behavioral assessment in the elevated plus maze for 5 min. The retest is performed 24 hours after the initial test. All the individuals will be tested with different doses of diazepam (0.5, 2.0 and 2.5 mg / kg). Soon after the end of the behavioral evaluation, the body temperature of the rats will be measured. The present research project aims to continue previous studies in our laboratory about RE and its relationship with anxiety and stress, as well as with regard to the effects of diazepam.Item Efeito do Diazepam sobre a resposta comportamental ao estresse em ratas nulíparas e primíparas(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2008-11-30) GARCIA, Claudia Fernanda Ribeiro; HUCKE, Erica Elgelberg da SilvaThe reproductive experience (ER), that is, the set of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation, is associated with changes in hormone secretion, reducing, for example, steroids and prolactin, possibly for the rest of a female's life. It has been shown that responses to stress are related to the behavioral expression of anxiety in the elevated plus-maze, since stress has an anxiogenic effect in this experimental model, and that both responses to stress and anxiety can be permanently modified according to the RE. In addition, it has been previously demonstrated that the sensitivity of primiparous females to stress can be reduced. Thus, this research project aims to continue previous studies in our laboratory about RE and its relationship with anxiety and stress, by studying the behavior of rats in the elevated plus-maze, evaluating the effect of diazepam.
