    Influência do ciclo estral sobre o comportamento no labirinto em cruz elevado em ratas nulíparas e primíparas submetidas ao estresse

    Previous studies with rodents have shown reproductive experience (pregnancy, childbirth and lactation), can alter the sensitivity to anxiety and stress. In this sense, a reduction in anxiety in the elevated plus-maze has already been observed in experienced females. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of stress in nulliparous and primiparous rats at various stages of the estrous cycle. Two groups of individuals will be generated, a group of primiparous women (n = 8; gestation + 21 days of lactation) and a group of nulliparous women (n = 8) matched by age. After obtaining the females, the experimental groups will be subjected to stress by containment for 25 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for rest, and soon after subjected to the behavioral assessment in the elevated plus maze for 5 min. The retest will be performed 24 hours after the initial test. The experimental procedures will be performed in 3 phases of the estrous cycle: proestrus, estrus and metestrus, in groups of different nulliparous and primiparous females (n = 48). This research project aims to continue previous studies in our laboratory about reproductive experience and its relationship with anxiety and stress.

    Efeito do estresse sobre a secreção de prolactina em ratas nulíparas e primíparas no estro

    The reproductive experience (set of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation), is associated with changes in hormone secretion, reducing hormones such as steroids and prolactin. Prolactin plays an important role in the reproductive process, especially in lactation, controlling the production and composition of milk. This hormone responds to stressful stimuli, and its response is dependent on blood prolactin concentrations before stress. The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of stress on prolactin secretion in nulliparous and primiparous rats during estrus, continuing our studies.

    Efeito do Diazepam sobre a resposta comportamental ao estresse em ratas nulíparas e primíparas

    The reproductive experience (ER), that is, the set of pregnancy, childbirth and lactation, is associated with changes in hormone secretion, reducing, for example, steroids and prolactin, possibly for the rest of a female's life. It has been shown that responses to stress are related to the behavioral expression of anxiety in the elevated plus-maze, since stress has an anxiogenic effect in this experimental model, and that both responses to stress and anxiety can be permanently modified according to the RE. In addition, it has been previously demonstrated that the sensitivity of primiparous females to stress can be reduced. Thus, this research project aims to continue previous studies in our laboratory about RE and its relationship with anxiety and stress, by studying the behavior of rats in the elevated plus-maze, evaluating the effect of diazepam.
