Item INOVAÇÃO DE PRODUTO ALIMENTAR VETERINÁRIO A BASE DE TENEBRIO MOLITOR(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) BAPTISTA, Adrian Henrique; BRUNO, Diego Bernardo; CARVALHO, Eduarda de Paula; LIMA, Mariane Ferreira Souza; OLIVEIRA, Adriano dos Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula Rosa da SilvaThe Tenebrio molitor insect, popularly known as mealworm, has been researched for its use as a component in veterinary pharmaceutical products, such as food and cosmetics. This interest is due to the high sustainability, practicality and low emission of polluting gases associated with its breeding and processing. The objective of this project is to develop an innovative veterinary cosmetic product, in the form of a creamy O/W emulsion, intended for use in dogs, with the active ingredient being derivatives of the Tenebrio molitor insect. The cosmetic product developed has suitable physical and chemical characteristics, such as texture, viscosity and odor. In addition, the product contains natural ingredients with beneficial properties for the skin, highlighting Tenebrio molitor oil, which is rich in oleic and linoleic fatty acids, with healing and moisturizing action, especially indicated for the treatment of dog paw pads. The veterinary cosmetic product developed in this project represents an innovation that can contribute to environmental and economic sustainability, as well as to improving the quality of life of dogs, who often suffer injuries as a result of their active lifestyle.Item DESENVOLVIMENTO DE PRODUTO PET A BASE DE TENÉBRIO GIGANTE(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) SANTANA, Douglas Monteiro de Oliveira; PAULINO, Eduarda de Souza; SILVA, Olinda Mariane de Faria; FARIA, Otavio Augusto; PINHEIRO, Sthefany Ribeiro; OLIVEIRA, Adriano dos Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula Rosa da SIlvaThe pet market is eager for innovations, the sector grows approximately 15.8% per year and the use of sustainable materials with high nutritional value is increasingly taken into consideration by the adoption of innovations in the dog food industry. This study aims to promote the industry of food production based on insect flour and, to this end, an innovative formulation for dog biscuits was developed, in which the main raw material used was defatted mealworm flour, an alternative and sustainable food for the production of protein supplements. Initial tests were carried out for the processing of the dog biscuit prototype, in order to develop a final formulation that has commercialization potential due to the added nutritional value of the product, development of mandatory nutritional labeling and palatability. Based on this, it is possible to conclude that the promotion of verticalization and innovation in the market for insect-based products is among the main strategies for maintaining future generations with regard to new protein sources of food and environmental conservation.Item DESENVOLVIMENTO DE BISCOITO VETERINÁRIO COM INSUMOS NATURAIS A BASE DE TENEBRIO(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) ASSI, Karoline Montoro; JUDICE, Maria Eduarda Lino Del; GALHARDE, Milenna Elena; CORRÊA, Vinicius Alves; OLIVEIRA, Adriano dos Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula da SilvaSince Brazil is the second largest consumer of pet products in the world, the industry needs to develop products that meet consumer demand. One of the sectors where innovation is possible is in the food sector using alternative raw materials, an example of which is the use of products derived from a beetle called Tenebrio. Therefore, the objective of the project was to develop a veterinary food product from natural products extracted from Tenebrio larvae. The development of the formulation was carried out in four stages during the semester of the undergraduate course in Pharmacy. In this way, it was possible to identify the ingredients that could be used, ensuring that the product would be successful. Thus, the entire experimental procedure resulted in a protein biscuit based on alternative raw materials, and the tests performed were able to guarantee a pleasant coloration similar to those designed for the market, bringing a sustainable, profitable and innovative bias to its consumers. Although a viable prototype has been created, the tests performed for it are not sufficient, therefore, to guarantee the final product, even more analyses are necessary.
