Cerebrovascular accident (CVA) is more common in men and is one of the
main causes of death in Brazil, with more than 150 thousand cases per year,
choosing age and can occur in young people, adults and elderly people. It occurs when
there is damage to the brain due to interruption of blood supply, causing
Cerebral palsy on the side where blood flow is interrupted. (Albert
Einstein, 2020).
There are 2 types of stroke, ischemic stroke that causes a clot in the artery, being
the most common representing 85% of cases. And the hemorrhagic stroke that causes
bleeding and ruptured arteries, the least common of which represents 15% of
cases.(SAÚDE, 2013/2020).
