    Teacher Ana Paula Silva is planning an interdisciplinary project that combines geography and history content for her 3rd grade students. The goal is to help students better understand the concepts of geographic space, culture, and society, using approaches that make learning more meaningful and engaging. José de Alencar Municipal School is located in an urban neighborhood with a rich local history. Most of the students are local residents, and their families have diverse cultural backgrounds, which contributes to a multicultural environment. Teacher Ana Paula wants to take advantage of this diversity to enrich her students’ learning.

    All applications in teaching mathematical literacy, especially in early childhood education, are rooted in playfulness. The more playful, practical and dynamic situations are included in this context, the greater the breadth and depth of knowledge will be achieved. We cannot forget everyday factors, real situations that involve the student outside of school in different contexts, which generates greater security and confidence in the learner to become even more involved with the world of mathematical literacy.

    It is known that education has undergone many changes in turbulent scenarios, in political and social environments, among many others, even situations of appreciation for all professionals who are elements of this process. What should be made clear is that, in each of these ruptures, the quality of teaching was improved, new approaches combined with new procedures and legislation were incorporated to improve education, both for students and for the teaching staff.

    The Citizen School is the school that promotes the citizenship of those who are in it and who comes to it. According to Paulo Freire “when education is not liberating, the dream of the oppressed is to be the oppressor” (Pedagogy of the Oppressed, 1987). It is in the school environment that the student begins to socialize with other people and develop fundamental skills for a lifetime.

    The National Education Plan (PNE) 2014–2024 seeks, predominantly in its Goal 4, to universalize school attendance for students with disabilities, global developmental disorders and high abilities or giftedness, preferably in the regular education network. The results of the Goal revealed, in different age groups, discrepancies in the access and rate of schooling, literacy and illiteracy between the population with and without disabilities. The observed differences are accentuated in the population with intellectual and motor disabilities. Such data corroborate the need to rebuild the school educational model for the effective inclusion of people with disabilities. Special education from the perspective of inclusion conceives the school space as an environment for carrying out proposals in the light of equality, in which everyone has the right to learn assured, considering the specificities of the subjects, designing adequate services for motor, visual needs , linguistic and cognitive skills of students enrolled in regular schools.

    Traditionally, the family has been identified as a fundamental part of school success or failure. The search for harmony between family and school is part of any educational work that focuses on the formation of an autonomous individual. The student is the motivating source for carrying out school work. He mentally lives the contents and shows us in practice the understanding of what he was passed on or what his experience taught him. It is believed that educating is not just instructing, but offering a meaningful experience that prepares for life. The school space should not only be concerned with the intellectual formation of the student, but also and mainly with his formation as an ethical and participatory human being.

    Brazilian and world education have undergone many changes in scenarios from turbulent moments, in political and social environments, among many others, to situations of appreciation of all professionals who are elements of this process. What should be made clear is that, in each of these ruptures, the quality of teaching was improved, new aspects allied to new procedures and legislation were incorporated to improve education, both for students and for the teaching staff. However, there is still a long way to go. The teacher has a fundamental role in the life of the human being, in addition to academic training, contributing to the development of the student, providing skills and competencies required for professional and personal life.
