    We can say that reading is the basis of human learning, where we absorb knowledge and improve our continuous learning that accompanies us from birth and throughout life. Reading can be understood through writing, sound, art, smells, making the reader have their daily and private experiences, thus transforming reading into a unique and pleasurable process, no matter how much the same story is told, each story brings interpretations. different, previously unnoticed details and this brings the charm of reading. In this way the child becomes independent and assimilates social values.

    Conceptualize through this research, the importance of reading in the life of the individual, so that he becomes a critical and active citizen in society, exercising his rights and his citizenship. Recognize the role of the school in the formation of the reader, where the links between culture and knowledge will be developed, as well as evaluate the role of the teacher as the holder of knowledge, in his pedagogical practice, encouraging students to enjoy reading.

    In this case study we will talk about the importance of reading in early childhood education, how important it is to encourage and motivate children to develop the habit of reading. Creating projects to attract attention, such as the exhibition of a movie based on characters from comics, the famous comic books, also providing the expansion of knowledge and stimulation of the imagination, encouraging children through different types of books, reproducing and creating their favorite stories from known and lived stories.

    Reading is one of the most important means of communication. According to Gonçalves (2013), “reading for the early years is of paramount importance for teaching-learning and to acquire new knowledge, the act of reading is the acquisition of new knowledge for the formation of a citizen”.

    Reading over the years has become increasingly scarce, one of the reasons is the social inequality still very present in public schools in our country, many children and adolescents believe that it is not necessary to have the habit of reading, after all the information what you need to know about the present is in your hands just a click away on your cell phone, or on television, which makes young people mostly poor in critical consciousness.
