(LABOISSIÈRE, 2017). People affected by this disease can suffer profound consequences, such as death sudden injury, psychological problems and mental disorders. (GRANDCHILD; MARCHETTI, 2005) The presence of epilepsy is defined by the recurrence of epileptic seizures (at least two) spontaneous, not provoked by fever, acute insults of the central nervous system or drug abuse. Seizures are resulting from excessive electrical discharges in a group of brain cells, different parts of the brain can be affected by the problem (LABOISSIÈRE, 2017). Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICS) are a treatment that uses therapeutic resources based on traditional knowledge, aimed at to prevent various illnesses, whether mental or physical. In some cases, also can be used as palliative treatments in some chronic diseases. O Unified Health System (SUS) offers 29 PICS free of charge.
