Traumatologia aplicada a distúrbios encefálicos em gatos domésticos
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) ARAÚJO, João Pedro Alves de; MARTUCCI, Mariane Ferracin; MANÇANARES, Celina Almeida Furlanetto
Domestic felines are docile animals and, despite being domesticated, they have not lost their predatory habits and exploratory instinct. The most different reasons drove these animals to risk climbing in high places and as a result, many suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI), which is one of the main cases of recorded deaths. The involvement of structures such as the brain caused the animals to present several systemic manifestations and even changes in behavior resulting from cases of trauma. Not only neurological alterations were able to lead to systemic consequences, but systemic alterations were responsible for causing nervous symptoms, and therefore, in these cases, a complete anamnesis added relevant information to the clinical pictures, allowing more informed diagnoses and consequently better targeted treatments. . Many drugs can be used, such as anti-inflammatories and analgesics, and some pharmacological associations were made and showed good results. The present work aimed to carry out a literature review on such clinical conditions, listing some of the pharmacological types used in the treatment of felines, such as their differentials.

Peritonite infecciosa felina (PIF): revisão de literatura
(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) FOSCO, Maria Paula Périgo; GODOY, Juliana Reis; MALANDRIM, Patrícia; RODRIGUES, Talita Oliveira; SOSSAI, Vinícius; TORRES, Maria Lucia Marcucci
Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a common disease in feline medicine, has a worldwide distribution and is caused by the coronavirus, which is sensitive to the environment, but can remain in its infectious form for weeks on organic matter and dry surfaces. It is characterized as a silent onset systemic viral disease and can present two different manifestations: effusive or wet, non-effusive or dry. The definitive diagnosis is difficult since there is a lack of specificity of clinical symptoms, lack of pathognomonic hematological and biochemical alterations and the low sensitivity and specificity of diagnostic tests. The objective of this study was to review the literature on FIP, taking into account that it is an infectious disease that is mainly insidious in environments that have high agglomerations and feline breeding, difficult to diagnose and progressively fatal, due to the lack of specific treatment. .

    Lipidose hepática felina
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) SANTOS, Thayná Franco dos; FARIA, Maeli Ribeiro de; ALVIM, Talita Gonçalves; TORRES, Maria Lúcia Marcucci
Also called Fatty Degeneration, Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (FHL) is a highly fatal hepatobiliary disease that affects domestic cats. The most observed clinical signs are anorexia, weight loss, lethargy, emesis, jaundice and eventually behavioral symptoms, and may also present neurological signs, such as drooling, blindness, seizures and coma (OLIVEIRA; MELLO; VIEIRA, 2017). The diagnosis is based on the patient's history, clinical examination, physical examination and complementary tests such as blood count, biochemistry, ultrasound, radiography, clotting test, liver biopsy, fine needle aspiration and necropsy. The definitive diagnosis is through histopathological analysis (RODRIGUES, 2009). The objective of this work is to carry out a review of the disease, explaining its characteristics, causes, possible treatments and prognosis.
