Item Controle da dor oncológica em pequenos animais: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-01-18) BRIDI, Fabíola de Bem; OLIVEIRA, Amabily R. Ramos de; CARVALHO, Bárbara Pires; BONFANTE, Juliana da Silva; HATSCHBACH, Eduardo; OLIVEIRA, Júlia Bonilha deCancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in elderly animals, and pain relief is essential for a better quality of life for the patient and must be done correctly. In order to institute treatment, it is necessary to identify the type of pain, assess the physiological and behavioral changes, location, recognize the patient's physical state, the treatment phase, the limitations and risks of the procedures. Scales and questionnaires are also used to assist the veterinarian. Pain can be treated with different drugs such as anti-inflammatory drugs, opioids, and there are also alternative therapies such as acupuncture and physiotherapy, which help in the process of controlling cancer pain. The present work aims to present a literature review on the control of cancer pain in small animals, highlighting the importance of diagnosing, identifying the physical and behavioral changes in dogs and cats caused by pain and treating it correctly, according to the evolution of the disease. tumor, providing a better quality of life to the animal with cancer.Item Leptospirose canina(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) QUEIROZ, Francielle Maria Prodócimo; NOZAWA, Marcela Helena; CHANQUETTE, Maria Vitória Marchenta; BERALDO, Mariana Ramos AndradeCanine leptospirosis is caused by the bacteria called Leptospira. Infection occurs through contact with stagnant water carrying urine from transmitters, most commonly rodents, which penetrate through scratches in the dermis and mucous membranes, reaching the bloodstream, which is ideal for its replication. It has zoonotic power, being transmitted to humans through floods or contact with infected animals, therefore, it is considered a public health problem.Item Síndrome da disfunção cognitiva em cães(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) PIROLA, Júlia Cecília; FERREIRA, Júlia Eliza; SOUZA, Mariely Thaís deCognitive dysfunction syndrome in dogs (CCDS) is characterized by behavioral changes in geriatric dogs, due to neurodegeneration. The most observed clinical signs are changes in the sleep-wake cycle, gradual cognitive loss with sensory deficits, changes in learning ability, memory, spatial notions, social interactions and decrease in normal daily activities. The prevalence of this disease can happen from the age of six, when the animal begins to show discrete signs of cognitive dysfunction, however, the most evident changes start from 11 years of age. In the diagnosis, in addition to observing behavioral changes suggestive of CCDS, several complementary exams are indicated, such as blood count, serum biochemistry and hormonal tests, ruling out the influence of diseases that can lead to neurological changes such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, renal failure, among others; the definitive diagnosis is obtained by histopathological examination of the nervous tissue, obtained by biopsy in vivo or, in general, in the post-mortem period. The treatment consists of preventing the advance of the neurodegenerative process and restoring the concentrations of neurotransmitters.Item Trombocitopenia imunomediada em cães(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) TEIXEIRA, Kelly Cristina; RAMOS, Maria Cecília Tobias; OLIVEIRA, Gabriela Bócoli Martins de; VARZIM, Fernanda Leme S. B.Platelets, or thrombocytes, are small cytoplasmic fragments originating from megakaryocytes that have essential functions for the maintenance of hemostasis. Disorders that lead to thrombocytopenia (platelet decrease) may be related to several factors, among them, Immune-mediated Thrombocytopenia (TIM) related to accelerated platelet destruction, which may be primary/idiopathic or secondary when resulting from other conditions. It is believed that TIM is the main cause of thrombocytopenia in the clinical routine of dogs, for this reason it is necessary to understand more and more about its etiology, diagnosis and treatment.Item Hemorragia pulmonar induzida por exercício físico em equinos(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) TORRES, Guilherme Oliveira de; OLIVEIRA, Maísa Carla de; PESSINATI, Bárbara DezottiExercise-Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage is a pathology known to have blood in the nostrils, coming from the lungs, after a great physical effort. Occurs mainly in athletic horses, which require high performance and/or performance. Its main clinical sign is epistaxis, and its diagnosis is based on clinical examination and complementary tests, such as endoscopy. Its incidence has been increasing due to the great demand of athletic animals, and its treatment is considered conservative and palliative.Item Vantagens da anestesia epidural em fêmeas caninas submetidas a cesária(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) OCTAVIANO, Giovana Marquiti; CAVALHEIRO, Scheilla Thaís; BONFANTE, Juliana da SilvaAnesthesia in pregnant females is a major challenge for the veterinarian, since anesthetic protocols must have characteristics that promote minor changes. physiology in the mother and fetus. Currently, epidural anesthesia in pregnant canine females has been performed more frequently in small animal surgery, due to the fact that the local anesthetics decrease the use of inhaled and intravenous anesthetics, reduce trans-anesthetic stress, provide central pain inhibition, promoting smaller changes cardiorespiratory and residual postoperative analgesia.Item Coccidiose no meio agropecuário: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) AGUIAR, Julia F.; ALVES, Eduardo; BERALDO, Mariana Ramos AndradeCoccidiosis is a parasitic disease caused by parasites of the genus Eimeira and Isospora that affect the digestive epithelium, generating inflammation in the intestinal mucosa leading to self-limiting anorexia, diarrhea accompanied by blood and intestinal tissue fragments. It mainly affects younger animals from three weeks to six months of age, and may affect older animals when population density is high, when the load of ingested oocysts is large or when animals are subjected to stress, concomitant diseases or weak immunity. . It has a low lethality rate, but it is largely responsible for serious losses in the area of livestock.production causing great economic damage, however, animals that were or are exposed and infected by coccidia may not show clinical signs, being a disease often asymptomatic and self-limiting.Item Paralisia laringeana: relato de caso(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) GODOY, Juliana Reis; FOSCO, Maria Paula P.; SOUZA, Mariely Thaís de; MALANDRIM, Patrícia; RODRIGUES, Talita Oliveira; SOSSAI, Vinicius; ALBERTO, Maryna Lança V.Laryngeal paralysis consists of reduced abduction movement of the arytenoid cartilages during inspiration, resulting in obstruction of the anterior airways. It is related to nerve and/or muscle dysfunctions. Most of them have an idiopathic description. The main symptoms are: dyspnea, inspiratory stridor, vocal alteration, choking and coughing after food or water intake. The diagnosis is confirmed by laryngoscopy, with the animal under light sedation, so that laryngeal reflexes are maintained. The treatment is surgical and the unilateral lateralization of the arytenoid cartilage is the technique of choice. The work in question describes a case of laryngeal paralysis in an 11-year-old male Labrador Retriever.Item Comissão Organizadora e Científica(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) PESSINATI, Bárbara Dezotti; FIGUEIREDO, Cristiane Leite; BONFANTE, Juliana da Silva; ALBERTI, Karina; VERDURICO, Lenita Camargo; BERALDO, Mariana Ramos Andrade; ALBERTO, Maryna Lança Villia; SOUZA, Mariely Thais de; OLIVEIRA, Ana Flávia de Carvalho; MANÇANARES, Celina Almeida Furlanetto; HATSCHBACH, Eduardo; VARZIM, Fernanda Leme Silva Bastos; ALVES, Jefferson Douglas Soares; MESQUITA, José Ricardo Carvalho; ROCHA, Lívia Maria de Souza; MARTINS FILHO, Luiz Paulo; TORRES, Maria Lúcia Marcucci; MARTUCCI, Mariane Ferracin; PINTO, Maristela Pimentel; ALBERTO, Maryna Lança Vilia; SOUZA, Mariely Thais de; AIUB, Plínio Bruno; GRIGOLETTO, Renan; ABREU, Rogério Navarro de; GOUVEIA, YonaraThis scientific academic meeting ENAVET-2019 aims to present the articles prepared by students throughout the undergraduate course, encouraging and improving the act on the importance of science and its contribution to the most diverse covered by Veterinary Medicine.Item Insulimona em animais domésticos: revisão de literatura(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) VIEIRA, Evelin Fukumoto; PINTO, Amanda Silva; PULZ, Lidia HildebrandInsulinoma is a neoplasm that affects dogs and cats, especially dogs, most often has a malignant character. It is found in the pancreas in the beta cells of the Islets of Langerhans. Its main feature is the high deposition of insulin in the body, causing hypoglycemia in the animal. It is an aggressive and pertinent neoplasm, so physical examinations, anamnesis and complementary exams are essential for the final diagnosis. This way, you can design the best treatment plan for the patient. The objective of this work is to present the main characteristics of this pathology from a literature review.Item Carcinoma de células escamosas em felinos: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) CARRIJO, Jacqueline Ohana Vaz; BIBIANO, Milena; RIBEIRO, Veridiana Pereira Alves; VARGAS, Thiago Henrique MoroniCutaneous neoplasms have a high incidence in the clinical routine of small animals, so the in-depth study of this class of tumors is essential. In the feline species, it refers to a predisposition for the appearance of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), mainly affecting areas of hairy rarefaction, hypopigmented or depigmented. Environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation, genetic and infectious factors are related to the appearance of this neoplasm, which has an aggressive behavior locally and is very progressive if not diagnosed and treated early. In this way, we highlight the importance of recognizing its most characteristic macroscopic aspects as well as diagnostic tools for early diagnosis and a better prognosis or a better quality of life for animals.Item Lipidose hepática felina(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) SANTOS, Thayná Franco dos; FARIA, Maeli Ribeiro de; ALVIM, Talita Gonçalves; TORRES, Maria Lúcia MarcucciAlso called Fatty Degeneration, Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (FHL) is a highly fatal hepatobiliary disease that affects domestic cats. The most observed clinical signs are anorexia, weight loss, lethargy, emesis, jaundice and eventually behavioral symptoms, and may also present neurological signs, such as drooling, blindness, seizures and coma (OLIVEIRA; MELLO; VIEIRA, 2017). The diagnosis is based on the patient's history, clinical examination, physical examination and complementary tests such as blood count, biochemistry, ultrasound, radiography, clotting test, liver biopsy, fine needle aspiration and necropsy. The definitive diagnosis is through histopathological analysis (RODRIGUES, 2009). The objective of this work is to carry out a review of the disease, explaining its characteristics, causes, possible treatments and prognosis.Item Osteossarcoma apendicular em cães: revisão bibliográfica(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) RIBEIRO, Veridiana Pereira Alves; CARRIJO, Jacqueline Ohana Vaz; BIBIANO, Milena; ROCHA, Livia Maria de SouzaOsteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor in dogs. Developing in nearly 75% of cases in long bones is known as appendicular osteosarcoma. Often seen in large, fast-growing dogs, it usually affects middle-aged to elderly dogs that initially present with acute or chronic lameness and swelling in the affected limb. Although the most used diagnostic method is radiographic examination, biopsy with histopathological analysis is essential to confirm the diagnosis. Limb amputation rarely results in a cure, so alternative treatments (chemotherapy) and palliative care should be used for animals affected by metastasis.Item Glaucoma em pequenos animais: revisão de literatura(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) ANDREACI, Fernanda Lepri; SANTOS, Larissa Andressa Ripari dos; PINHEIRO, Rafaela Cristiane Francisco; TORRES, Maria Lúcia MarcucciGlaucoma is a serious disease that affects numerous species, being one of the main responsible for blindness in dogs, and in cats at a lower incidence, leading to a degeneration of nervous structures and progressive loss of vision, thus causing irreversible blindness. The main associated factor is the increase in intraocular pressure (IOP) caused by the reduction or obstruction of aqueous humor drainage. Among the diagnostic methods are ophthalmoscopy, gonioscopy and application tonometry. The main objective of clinical treatment is to provide temporary relief and with the progression of the disease, surgical intervention can be performed. As the condition has a progressive character, it causes irreversible visual damage, leading the animal to loss of vision. The purpose of this article is to review the literature on glaucoma in dogs and cats.Item Aspectos clínicos, diagnóstico e tratamento de pneumonia bacteriana: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) MALANDRIM, Patrícia; GODOY, Juliana Reis; FOSCO, Maria Paula Périgo; RODRIGUES, Talita Oliveira; SOSSAI, Vinicius; SOUZA, Mariely Thaís dePneumonia is an inflammation or infection of the lung parenchyma, due to infectious or non-infectious causes. The clinical signs of the disease vary according to the severity of the condition and the differential diagnosis must be based on physical examination, findings on chest radiography, isolation and bacterial culture together, since the clinical signs alone may be common to several patients. other diseases of the respiratory tract. Treatment consists of antibiotic therapy, mucolytics, bronchodilators, oxygen therapy, tapping and fluid therapy and the prognosis varies from good to reserved. The objective of this review is to compile the most relevant literature, in order to facilitate the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic understanding of this disease.Item Uso da técnica de Pennhip para diagnóstico de displasia coxo femural(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) ALBUQUERQUE, Ana Lidia Silva; MARTINS, Ana Carolina; ALVES, Jefferson Douglas SoaresThe Hip Dysplasia (DCF) is a pathology with the highest number of incidences in the routine of the veterinary clinic of small animals, mainly affecting dogs of larger breeds. and medium sizes. One of the main clinical signs presented by the animal is lameness, which manifests itself due to the degree of the disease in the animal. (BARROS et al., 2008). This disease has several factors involved, such as sex, race, genetics, age, management, nutrition, obesity or in some cases the animal will present with muscle atrophy. However, the primary factor evaluated in every animal that presents this pathology is the laxity of the ligament, which consequently generates disharmony or instability of this joint.Item Hiperalgesia induzida por opioides(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) CAVALHEIRO, Scheila Taís; BONFANTE, Juliana da SilvaCurrently, there is an awareness of the imminent presence of pain and its negative consequences for the general state of health and well-being. Opioids are essential drugs in the fight the pain. However, with current information and studies, it has been confirmed that the administration of opioids, especially chronically or in high doses, can lead to a reaction called opioid-induced hyperalgesia (OHI). A paradoxical consequence, given that the purpose of using these drugs is precisely to stop the pain and not to increase sensitivity after using the drug.Item Ozonioterapia em feridas de equinos(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) SILVA, Thayná da Cruz Paduan; REZENDE, Laryssa de Souza; DORES, Erica das; GRIGOLETTO, RenanThis work aims to report the use of ozone as a treatment for wounds and the importance of its uses, this therapy has several application routes, such as major and minor auto-hemotherapy, rectal insufflation, topically with the use of compresses or plastic bags, and ozonized oils and several literatures report that the topical administration route and ozonized oils are the most used in equine wounds, since a large portion of these wounds are treated by second intention, and this direct application to the lesion increase its power of action because its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, accelerate the healing and regeneration of these lesions, however, like all other therapies, ozone also has its contraindications, such as gas inhalation, in its use together with the saline solution, hypothyroidism and anemia, so it is extremely important that the entire procedure is carried out by a veterinarian specialized in ozone therapy, to avoid armos any future complications.Item Insuficiência cardíaca esquerda em cães(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) ZEFERINO, Naara Caneschi; ALBERTO, Maryna ViliaLeft heart failure in dogs occurs when the heart is not able to pump blood adequately to the animal's body, and can be caused by systolic or diastolic dysfunction. The dog will present gradual shortness of breath, which will start with great physical exertion and will reach the point where the animal shows signs even at rest. With the worsening comes orthopnea, shortness of breath when lying down and even the so-called paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, when the animal wakes up during the night due to shortness of breath that forces it to sit down in search of relief. Physical and complementary exams can be used for the diagnosis of the disease, which, if performed early, will positively influence the results of the treatment. However, there is no cure for this disease, effective treatment will only result in survival time, with reasonable quality.Item Síndrome de Horner: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) T. JÚNIOR, Eduardo; SOUZA, Thales B.; TORRES, Maria Lúcia MarcucciHorner syndrome is a manifestation that can occur frequently in dogs, cats, horses and many other species within the veterinary clinic. Its origin occurs as a result of the interruption of the sympathetic innervation of the eyeball, characterized by a set of neuro-ophthalmic signs such as: miosis, enophthalmos, ptosis and protrusion of the third eyelid. Due to the complex three-neuron pathway by which this syndrome is classified and the difficulty in locating the lesion, this review has with the objective of describing neuro-anatomical and physiological characteristics, as well as highlighting their causes, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
