Currently, epidural anesthesia in pregnant canine females has been performed more frequently in small animal surgery, due to the fact that the local anesthetics decrease the use of inhaled and intravenous anesthetics, reduce trans-anesthetic stress, provide central pain inhibition, promoting smaller changes cardiorespiratory and residual postoperative analgesia.Item Utilização da Thuya Occidentalis no tratamento da papilomatose canina(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) OLIVEIRA, Gabriella Maria Dias de; CAVALHEIRO, Scheilla Thaís; SOUZA, Mariely Thaís deCanine papillomatosis is an infectious disease caused by the virus of the genus Papillomavirus and family Popillomaviridae. Cutaneous lesions are identified as benign, exophytic, verrucous tumor masses in most cases, compared to the cauliflower shape in the cutaneous, ocular and especially oral region. The transmission of the disease occurs through direct or indirect contact with secretions and/or blood from the papillomas present in infected animals. The treatment of papillomatosis is carried out through different therapeutic protocols that are instituted when the lesions do not present spontaneous healing, such as cryotherapy, electrosurgery, surgical removal, autohemotherapy, autovaccines, chemotherapy, immunostimulants and homeopathic drugs, including the study of integrative therapies, among them, the use of phytotherapics through the medicinal plant Thuya occidentalis, an outstanding action for its successful therapeutic result in canine papillomatosis.Item Uso do ponto Yin Tang como terapia coadjuvante na sedação(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) COUTINHO, Meline de Paula; AGUIAR, Júlia Fernandes; PIRES, Barbara; HATSCHBACH, EduardoWithin the anesthetic practice, tranquilization is closely linked to the balance of vital parameters, interfering in the pre, trans and postoperative period, as it allows for outpatient manipulations, potentiates induction anesthetics and necessary maintenance in numerous situations, from restraints, invasive procedures to practices that lead to stress. In anesthesiology, due to the morphological and physiological diversity found, satisfactory reassurance is a challenging issue. As an integrative therapy used concomitantly with already traditional protocols, there is pharmacopuncture, prolonging and potentiating the drugs and allowing the use of subdoses in the sedation. B.Kidney disease is commonly found in the small animal clinic, but its diagnosis often becomes late. Therefore, currently research by biomarkers More sensitive kidneys have been the focus of studies, in order to provide an early diagnosis, allowing an appropriate therapy for each patient in addition to improving the quality of life. The renal biomarker called Symmetrical Dimethylarginine (SDMA) has been showing significant early results for the diagnosis of kidney disease, being able to detect kidney damage when less than 50% of the function is compromised. However, its use has been gradually growing in anesthesiology, making its indications broader, being a drug with analgesic and sedative properties with potential for neuro and cardio protection. Ramos de; BRIDI, Fabíola de Bem; BONFANTE, Juliana da Silva; HATSCHBACH, EduardoThe care with the health of dogs and cats becomes more and more evident with the socialization of the animal with the human; quality of life and pain control are considered very important aspects, since they are family members. Therefore, veterinarians are dedicated to recognizing and treating pain in animals, since pain perception is difficult to quantify in them. Analgesia is a fundamental issue not only for quality of life, but in pre, trans and post surgery, laboratory tests and clinical routine procedures. Therefore, knowledge of the mechanism of action of drugs that help, as adjuvants, opioids in pain management is essential. Ketamine is a dissociative drug that at low doses has promising prospects in analgesia, blocking the activation of NMDA receptors (N-methyl D-Aspartate), thus inhibiting the binding with glutamate, a nerve impulse transmitter, interrupting the painful sensation and temporarily desensitized her. This pathology generates losses economic issues related to the production and condemnation of carcasses. Cattle can be infected by Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare through various forms of contamination, the inhalation route (pulmonary) being the most pathogenic M.bovis infection. B.Platelets, or thrombocytes, are small cytoplasmic fragments originating from megakaryocytes that have essential functions for the maintenance of hemostasis. Disorders that lead to thrombocytopenia (platelet decrease) may be related to several factors, among them, Immune-mediated Thrombocytopenia (TIM) related to accelerated platelet destruction, which may be primary/idiopathic or secondary when resulting from other conditions. It is believed that TIM is the main cause of thrombocytopenia in the clinical routine of dogs, for this reason it is necessary to understand more and more about its etiology, diagnosis and treatment.Item Traumatologia aplicada a distúrbios encefálicos em gatos domésticos(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) ARAÚJO, João Pedro Alves de; MARTUCCI, Mariane Ferracin; MANÇANARES, Celina Almeida FurlanettoDomestic felines are docile animals and, despite being domesticated, they have not lost their predatory habits and exploratory instinct. The most different reasons drove these animals to risk climbing in high places and as a result, many suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI), which is one of the main cases of recorded deaths. The involvement of structures such as the brain caused the animals to present several systemic manifestations and even changes in behavior resulting from cases of trauma. Not only neurological alterations were able to lead to systemic consequences, but systemic alterations were responsible for causing nervous symptoms, and therefore, in these cases, a complete anamnesis added relevant information to the clinical pictures, allowing more informed diagnoses and consequently better targeted treatments. . Many drugs can be used, such as anti-inflammatories and analgesics, and some pharmacological associations were made and showed good results. The present work aimed to carry out a literature review on such clinical conditions, listing some of the pharmacological types used in the treatment of felines, such as their differentials.
