(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) BAPTISTA, Adrian Henrique; BRUNO, Diego Bernardo; CARVALHO, Eduarda de Paula; LIMA, Mariane Ferreira Souza; OLIVEIRA, Adriano do Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula Rosa da Silva
Tenebrio molitor, also known as mealworm, is an insect that has been studied for use as a source of protein in veterinary food due to its high sustainability, practicality and low emission of polluting gases. This project seeks to develop an innovative veterinary food in the form of a biscuit rich in proteins, vitamins and essential nutrients for muscle, bone and cardiovascular health and obesity control, for older dogs, using Tenebrio molitor derivatives as the main component. The biscuit should have a pleasant flavor and a crunchy texture that will encourage dogs to chew and its formulation will be composed of glucosamine and chondroitin, type II collagen, which are substances that help in the regeneration of cartilage and in the prevention of joint diseases, as well as vitamins and enzymes that help in the absorption of the large amount of proteins present in the product. It is concluded that the product is an innovation that could bring both environmental and economic benefits, in addition to promoting a better quality of life for healthy dogs that are athletes, as well as those that have some physiological weakness that require nutritional attention to replace cartilage and strengthen bones and muscles, as this will depend on the dose administered to the animal.

INOVAÇÃO DE PRODUTO ALIMENTAR VETERINÁRIO A BASE DE TENEBRIO MOLITOR
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) BAPTISTA, Adrian Henrique; BRUNO, Diego Bernardo; CARVALHO, Eduarda de Paula; LIMA, Mariane Ferreira Souza; OLIVEIRA, Adriano dos Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula Rosa da Silva
The Tenebrio molitor insect, popularly known as mealworm, has been researched for its use as a component in veterinary pharmaceutical products, such as food and cosmetics. This interest is due to the high sustainability, practicality and low emission of polluting gases associated with its breeding and processing. The objective of this project is to develop an innovative veterinary cosmetic product, in the form of a creamy O/W emulsion, intended for use in dogs, with the active ingredient being derivatives of the Tenebrio molitor insect. The cosmetic product developed has suitable physical and chemical characteristics, such as texture, viscosity and odor. In addition, the product contains natural ingredients with beneficial properties for the skin, highlighting Tenebrio molitor oil, which is rich in oleic and linoleic fatty acids, with healing and moisturizing action, especially indicated for the treatment of dog paw pads. The veterinary cosmetic product developed in this project represents an innovation that can contribute to environmental and economic sustainability, as well as to improving the quality of life of dogs, who often suffer injuries as a result of their active lifestyle.

With a critical eye on the 17 UN goals, laboratory experiments were carried out at the Octávio Bastos University, with the aim of following SDG 11, which among several goals, aims to have a sustainable system by 2030. With a view to a future problem, prototypes of a moisturizing cream for dogs were developed in the laboratory, with a vegan formulation inspired by an article, but, using the product's innovation, which is Tenebrio mollitor oil, which together with the other raw materials that are also sustainable will not be a 100% vegan cream, but it will be a sustainable cream that in the future will not cause so many impacts to the environment.

DESENVOLVIMENTO DA FORMULAÇÃO DE BISCOITO PET COM FARINHA DE TENÉBRIO
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) ROZALINO, Bruna Carolina Sitko; SANTOS, Felipe Silva; SILVA, Gabrielly Vaz Pacheco da; SOUZA, Leonardo Carvalho de; RIBEIRO, Natasha Bixesto; OLIVEIRA, Adriano dos Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula Rosa da Silva
According to the United Nations (2012), it is estimated that the world population will exceed 9 billion people in 2050, so the supply of protein foods will need to be increased with alternative sources of raw material such as the use of Tenebrio molitor. Currently, the use of Tenebrio molitor flour has been widely used in animal feed and, thanks to the approval of the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), it may be used as human food in the future. Therefore, the objective of this project was to develop the formulation of a biscuit for animal feed, specifically for dogs, using a protein source based on Tenebrio molitor by-products and vitamin B. The choice of Tenebrio molitor flour was due to the high concentration of proteins, lipids, minerals and vitamins present in its nutritional composition. Tests for the development of the animal biscuit prototype are being carried out and, in principle, it was possible to obtain a consistent mass, but further tests will still be necessary to improve the final formulation, develop packaging and mandatory nutritional labeling for this type of product according to current legislation. As a final result, it is expected to obtain a food for veterinary use with good consistency, palatability, nutritional composition based on nutritional recommendations for commercial dog food, in addition to quality and safety for end consumers with future prospects for its approval and commercialization.

BÁLSAMO HIDRATANTE PARA USO VETERINÁRIO A BASE DE TENÉBRIO
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2023-08-01) SANTANA, Douglas Monteiro de Oliveira; PAULINO, Eduardo de Souza; SILVA, Olinda Mariane de Faria; PINHEIRO, Sthefany Ribeiro; FARIA, Otavio Augusto; OLIVEIRA, Adriano dos Santos; ISAAC, Gustavo Elias Arten; CAMARGO, Ana Paula Rosa da Silva
The pet market is constantly growing. According to the ABINPET 2020 survey, this market raised 22.3 billion. Therefore, innovations in this area are gaining prominence, especially for pet owners who take great care of their pets and seek to ensure their health, safety, and well-being, since they are practically members of the family. Pet care goes beyond food; accessories, clothing, and moisturizers are frequently used by owners, who seek to extend their care to their pets. This study, which focuses on bringing practicality, innovation, and sustainability, proves through research the usefulness of the Tenebrio insect as an innovative source and provider of benefits for the animal's skin, bringing a prototype of a moisturizing balm with 60% Tenebrio oil and 38% waxes, derived from animal and vegetable origin. The balm's formulation was promising, with a color, aroma, and texture comparable to similar products on the market.
