Operating systems are software, or set of software, whose function is
administer and manage a system's resources, from hardware components and
file systems to third-party programs, establishing the interface between the
computer and the user.
The operating system introduces an abstraction layer between the hardware and the user, which
transforms mouse and keyboard commands and system requests, such as
resources (CPU, RAM memory), in machine language, sending instructions to the
processor.
