Therefore, it is necessary to obtain it hygienically, from healthy animals and under veterinary inspection. For this reason, the technological steps in the slaughter of frogs must be well performed, in order to provide the producer with a better yield of the product, and the consumer with safe food.Item Ações biológicas das prostaglandinas na reprodução de fêmeas bovinas(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) ALVAREZ JÚNIOR, Roberto Aparecido; TUNIN, Adriana Maria Favaro; ROSAS FILHO, Adauto de CarvalhoProstaglandins are members of a large family of endogenous compounds, known as eicosanoids, derived from oxygenated fatty acids, unsaturated and synthesized in most mammalian tissues. The fact that concentrations increase during childbirth or abortion confirms the participation of this hormone in these processes. PGF associated with oxytocin causes myometrial contraction and PGE due to its spasmodic action on the anterior portion of the uterus, has a relaxing effect on the cervix. They are likely to participate in addition to uterine contraction, with events such as the occlusion of the umbilical vessels and the closure of the venous arterial duct.Item Algumas considerações sobre a eficiência produtiva de vacas leiteiras de alta produção(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) ALVAREZ JÚNIOR, Roberto Aparecido; VILLARRETA, Elias TunonThe objective of this literature review is based on data from the researched literature regarding the economic efficiency of high production dairy cows, to discuss postpartum efficiency data due to the higher negative energy balance, first postpartum heat, pregnancy rates, heat silent, increased incidence of double ovulations, altered levels of progesterone, estrogen, IGF -1, luteinizing hormone and embryonic death.Item Alguns aspectos quantitativos e qualitativos de carcaças relacionadas a produção de carne ovina(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) AGOSTINHO, Douglas Fernando; FRANZINI, Bianca P.; SIQUEIRA FILHO, Edson R. de; BALIEIRO, Julio César de CarvalhoThe present work highlights the main quantitative methods of carcass analysis that are correlated with the improvement of qualitative / quantitative aspects of the carcasses as well as greater acceptability by the consumer market, the increase in organoleptic characteristics, such as palatability and juiciness of meat cuts, are directly related, in greater or lesser degree, with the following quantifications: objective measurements of the carcass, thickness of covering fat, rib eye area, PH, texture and colorimetry.Item Alterações no perfil esparmático e constituição histológica dos testículos de coelhos sob a influência do aumento transitório da temperatura testicular(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) MARTINS, João Flávio Panattoni; BARROS, Michele Andrade de; IVO, Marcos Alexandre; OLIVEIRA, Priscila Carvalho de; BALIEIRO, Cristiano de Carvalho; AMBRÓSIO, Carlos Eduardo; MIGLINO, Maria Angélica; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia deThis study was conducted to investigate the sperm profile of rabbits, evaluating concentration, motility vigor and incidence of sperm with changes in the compaction of genetic material (pathologies of the DNA protein complex), under normal conditions and under the influence of the transient increase in temperature testicular. Eight fertile rabbits were used evaluating the parameters of 3 ejaculates on alternate days and then the animals were subjected to an increase in testicular temperature for 3 days, collecting semen samples on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 38 days for analysis. . Every 5 days a rabbit underwent orchiectomy for histological evaluation of testicles and epididymis.Item Análise de algumas variáveis de desempenho e de morfometria em cordeiros da raça Santa Inês criados em regime de confinamento(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) FIGUEIREDO, Cristiane Leite; BALIEIRO, Cristiano de Carvalho; OLIVEIRA, Priscila C. de; BALIEIRO, Julio César de CarvalhoThe objective of this study was to evaluate some pre-weaning characteristics related to performance and morphometry in Santa Inês breed sheep, reared in a complete confinement regime in the Mantiqueira Paulista region. 59 animals were used, being 31 whole males and 28 females, of the Santa Inês breed, bred and handled in an intensive breeding system. The pre-weaning productive performances observed in this work, when compared to the post-weaning performance reported in the literature, indicate that it will not be difficult to reach the post-weaning performance rates observed in other intensive production systems.Item Análise macro e microscópica do pâncreas e fígado de gambá(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) CASALS, Juliana; BELLATINE, Tatiana; AMBRÓSIO, Carlos Eduardo; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia de; MARTINS, João Flávio Panattoni; ROQUETO, Marco Antônio; MANÇANARES, Celina de Almeida Furlanetto; MIGLINO, Maria Angélica; HOFFMAN, Roberto16 animals from natural death were used in different situations. The techniques used, often traumatic, were injection of 10% formaldehyde followed by injection of latex (blue for the veins and red for the arteries) in the jugular vein and abdominal aorta. The results showed that the liver was dome-shaped in the cranial abdominal region, being macroscopically composed of 5 lobes and histologically similar to other domestic animals. The pancreas is dispersed and has an irregular surface. Its vascularization consisted of pancreatic duodenal, cranial and caudal arteries. Histologically, it presented characteristics similar to the pancreas of domestic species.Item Avaliação dos efeitos da Buprenorfina sobre a anestesia induzida pela associação de Quetamina e Xilazina em ratos(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) SOUZA, Fernanda C.; HUCKE, Erica Elgelberg da Silva; MASSONE, FlávioThe study of anesthetic techniques in rodents has gained increasing importance both for research and veterinary clinic. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the possible contribution of buprenorphine in the anesthetic association xylazine plus ketamine in rats. After evaluating the parameters used in the induction, maintenance and recovery periods, it was demonstrated that the use of opioids led to a surgical plan of greater quality and safety, and this type of association is recommended.Item Caracterização das glândulas salivares maiores do gambá(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) MARTUCCI, Mariane; MALEK, Carolina; AMBRÓSIO, Carlos Eduardo; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia de; MIGLINO, Maria Angélica6 animals from natural death were collected and collected in different situations such as being run over, attacks by other animals on neighboring farms, etc. Which were donated to the Anatomy Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos; São João da Boa Vista, SP. The anatomical techniques used were injection of 10% aqueous solution of formaldehyde and dissection of the glands. The parotid gland was found between the mandibular gland and the ear, the mandibular gland and the sublingual gland. No findings similar to the dog's palatine and zygomatic gland were observed.Item Caracterização e fórmula dentária de Kerodon rupestris(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) THOMAZ, Juliana Mantovani; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia de; MIGLINO, Maria Angélica; AMBRÓSIO, Carlos Eduardo; MANÇANARES, Celina de Almeida FurlanettoThe dentition of mammals varies according to species, although it is formed by the same structural components. Keredon rupestris presents the dental formula 1 1/1, C 0/0, P 1/1, M 3/3, its teeth being hypsodonts, whose layers, from the external to the internal region are: cementum, enamel, dentin and pulp. In his oral cavity, the presence of a region known as diastema was noticed, which is responsible for the displacement of the cutter apparatus away from the face.Item Correção de laceração perineal de terceiro grau em égua: revisão de literatura(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) FIGUEIREDO, Cristiane Leite; ABREU, Rogério Navarro de; MESQUITA, José Ricardo de Carvalho; FOZ FILHO, Roberto Pimenta de Pádua; FREITAS, Marinella Riegger deAmong the postpartum traumas in the mare, third degree perineal laceration stands out. The correction must be surgical, but it does not need to be performed immediately after the lesions occur. The lacerated tissues are swollen, necrotic and contaminated, and it is advisable to wait at least 3 to 6 weeks before undergoing reparative surgery. Numerous techniques with or without modifications have been described, but the basic principle of reconstructing a partition between the rectum and the vestibule, and the restoration of a functional perineal body has been recommended.Item Desenvolvimento das membranas fetais em carnívoros (Canis familiaris, Linnaeus, 1758)(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) WENCESLAU, Cristiane V.; MIGLINO, Maria Angélica; AMBRÓSIO, Carlos Eduardo; CARVALHO, Ana Flávia de; OLIVEIRA, Priscila C. de; FIORAVANTE FILHO, Nivaldo; ROSA, Ricardo Alexandre; MANÇANARES, Celina Almeida FurlanetoThe present study aims to provide morphological subsidies that can contribute to research in the processes of biotechnology of reproduction, as well as in vitro fertilization, cloning and obtaining stem cells, since this process in carnivores is complex and complicated. Therefore, our proposal aims at describing the structures and evolution of fetal membranes in dogs, including the process of involution of the yolk sac.Item Doença de Lyme ou Borreliose de Lyme: uma zoonose transmitida pelo carrapato que também afeta os cães(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) SPADA, Aline; BURIM, Livia Giacon; RABELO, Raimundo NonatoLyme disease is a zoonosis caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi that is transmitted by the tick Ixodid. It shows multisystemic signs in the dog, but the main report is lameness, due to polyarthritis. Its diagnosis of choice is the enzyme immunoassay, indirect ELISA along with clinical signs. Prophylaxis consists of avoiding contact with the tick in endemic areas and in these regions it is also possible to institute the use of the vaccine. Affected animals are treated with antibiotic therapy.Item Efeitos da idade, peso corporal e circunferência escrotal sobre o peso, volume e altura testiculares em cordeiros Santa Inês(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) SIQUEIRA FILHO, Edson Ramos; ALBERTI, Karina; BICUDO, Sony D.; BALIEIRO, Julio César de CarvalhoEighteen Santa Inês lambs were measured for scrotal circumference, which together with age and body weight were correlated with testicular height, volume and weight. The results showed that the correlations that involved age and body weight showed median and low values. However, the correlations with scrotal circumference were high, confirming literature data of the great relationship between this parameter and the development of tissues related to the puberty of male sheep.Item Efeitos do estresse térmico sobre os parâmetros produtivos e reprodutivos de vacas leiteiras(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) MATURANA FILHO, Milton; VILLARRETA, Elias TunonThis literature review aims to discuss thermal comfort variables and their effects on the production and reproduction of dairy cows. It has been found that in tropical countries, dairy cows are influenced by unfavorable environmental conditions and compromise the maximum expression of superior genotypes.Item Efeitos do tratamento com prostaglandina (PGF) no pós parto em bovinos(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) TUNIN, Adriana Maria Favaro; ALVAREZ JÚNIOR, Roberto Aparecido; HUCKE, Erica E. T. S.Uterine involution means the reduction of the size of the uterus with recovery of its functions after delivery. This action seems to depend on the release of prostaglandin (PGF), which accelerates the process, stimulating the myometrium. This substance is normally produced by the uterus, being responsible for the correct postpartum uterine involution in normal time. Delay in uterine involution can result in retained placenta with important health consequences and the return of normal cycling activity, leading to economic losses. The use of PGF in the postpartum period can help to avoid such problems, however its efficiency can still be questioned.Item Fatores antemortem e postmortem que influenciam a qualidade da carcaça e da carne ovina(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) SIQUEIRA FILHO, Edson R.; AGOSTINHO, Douglas Fernando; ALBERTI, Karina; ALKIMIN, Luiz Henrique F.; SILVA, Cesar A. Pequeno da; RABELO, Raimundo NonatoWith the increase in the creation of sheep destined for cutting, and the consequent increase in the consumption of sheep meat, the consumer market has become more demanding regarding the quality of the product that is offered on supermarket shelves. This work aims to highlight some important factors in the search for a higher quality in the production of carcasses and sheep meat, describing and citing techniques related to carcass and sheep meat quality.Item Fotossensibilização hepatógena em bovinos(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) VITORELO, Joana Torqui; THOMAZ, Juliana Montovanni; SCHEFFAUER, Juliana Sandall Pires; MOREIRA, Keilla do Nascimento; GAMA, Marco Antonio S. daPhotosensitization occurs worldwide and in all animal species, mainly in cattle and sheep. It can be subdivided into primary (with no liver damage) or secondary (hepatogenic). Hepatoxic plants are considered to be the most common cause of hepatogenic photosensitization in cattle. Phylloerytin, a product of degradation of chlorophyll, is most often associated with this disease.Item Influência da concentração de antígeno na síntese de anticorpos de resposta primária e secundária em animais de laboratório(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) ARAÚJO, Fernando A. de; JORGE NETO, Pedro N.; PITTA, Rodrigo de M.; JORGE, Rômulo da S.; ORIANI, Maria Raquel de Godoy; TURRI, Rosimary de J. G.Study carried out to investigate primary and secondary immune response in mice, using 1%, 2.5% and 4% sheep red blood cell solution as antigen. The animals received two doses of antigens at an interval of one week when bleeding was then performed to obtain serums of primary and secondary immune response. Serum titration was performed using the microhemagglutination technique with and without 2 mercaptoethanol, to verify the concentrations of IgM and IgG. According to the obtained titles, it was concluded that the best concentration of antigens for the induction of antibody synthesis was 2.5%, using the lowest concentration a satisfactory response was not obtained and that of 4% induced the death of several animals.Item Leptospirose(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2004-09-30) CAMPIDELLI, Alan Marcolini; PASCOAL, Livia Aparecida D' Avila BitencourtLeptospirosis is a contagious infectious disease that has acute or chronic contagion, caused by bacteria from the Leptospiraceae family, infecting domestic animals, wild animals and humans, with an unapparent clinical evolution or an evolution characterized by: anemia, fever, jaundice, hemoglobinuria and abortion. Leptospirosis is caused by serovars of Leptospira interrogans, a spirochete, mobile and filamentous, which spreads through carrier animals that eliminate microorganisms in the urine for months to years after infection.
