Item Fibropapilomatose em tartarugas marinhas: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2022-09-09) LANDGRAF, Leticia Chaim; DONEGÁ, Natália Silva Bueno; AIUB, Plinio BrunoFibropapillomatosis is fatal and is among the biggest problems for the conservation of sea turtles, which have all their species threatened with extinction. It is a disease characterized by the presence of multiple skin tumors that can also affect internal organs, and its origin is still unknown, but its possible relationship with a viral agent and its predisposing factors has been extensively studied. Affected animals are debilitated with fluctuation disorders, cachexia, hypoproteinemia, uremia, elevation of liver enzymes, profound anemia, parasitosis, gastrointestinal tract disorders and pneumonia. Thus, the diagnosis is obtained from the macroscopic aspects of the lesions, physical examination findings and for an exact confirmation it is necessary to perform a biopsy or a histopathological examination. Therefore, a surgical treatment is used, which can be combined with other methods, such as supportive therapy, phototherapy, cryotherapy, chemotherapy and antivirals, to try to provide a better prognosis.Item Dermatite atópica canina: revisão de literatura(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2022-09-09) ANDRADE, Camila Fernanda de; LANDGRAF, Leticia Chaim; DONEGÁ, Natália Silva Bueno; TORRES, Maria Lúcia MarcucciCanine atopic dermatitis (CAD) is a multifactorial pathology, of type I hypersensitivity with IgE production and dependent on the animal's immune system, its breed, age, place where it lives and seasonality. In addition, it may be related to other conditions, such as food hypersensitivity and allergic dermatitis to ectoparasite bites (DAPE), or present symptoms very similar to other skin diseases. Regarding the clinical signs, the animal presents pruritus, alopecia, edema, lichenification, hyperpigmentation, pustules, hyperkeratosis, ferruginous dyschromia and secondary infections. Therefore, the diagnosis of CAD is based on a complete anamnesis, clinical signs, general clinical, dermatological and complementary exams for a diagnosis of exclusion. Thus, the treatment is lifelong and is based on the control of clinical symptoms, consisting of the use of topical therapies, desensitization, fatty acids, antihistamines and occasionally immunosuppressive drugs. The prognosis is good, although there is no cure, control can be performed promoting a quality of life for the patient.
