    Pathophysiology of Obesity According to Kumar, obesity is a disease of caloric imbalance that results from excess calories ingested above body consumption. It is known that the obesity runs in families, suggesting a component hereditary. Although genetic factors may explain some of the individual variations in terms of excess of weight, environmental influences also contribute to meaningful way.
