Currently, the use of Tenebrio molitor flour has been widely used in animal feed and, thanks to the approval of the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), it may be used as human food in the future. Therefore, the objective of this project was to develop the formulation of a biscuit for animal feed, specifically for dogs, using a protein source based on Tenebrio molitor by-products and vitamin B. The choice of Tenebrio molitor flour was due to the high concentration of proteins, lipids, minerals and vitamins present in its nutritional composition. Tests for the development of the animal biscuit prototype are being carried out and, in principle, it was possible to obtain a consistent mass, but further tests will still be necessary to improve the final formulation, develop packaging and mandatory nutritional labeling for this type of product according to current legislation.
