Anaplasmosis is a condition that can affect small and large animals. It is a disease caused by hemoparasite bacteria that attacks white cells. Anaplasma platys is an obligate intracellular gram negative bacterium that when inoculated in the hopedeiro, usually through a vector such as a hematophagous ectoparasite, can lead to thrombocytopenia, among other serological disorders. The infection caused by this parasite can lead to anemia, fever, lethargy and emesis, the treatment being the use of tetracycline antibiotics. The main form of diagnosis is through serology. It was reported the case of a male cat, of no defined breed, affected by such disease.
