Aspectos na identificação das serpentes brasileiras
(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2001-11-30) MUNIZ, Thiago M.; SERÓDIO, João F. A.; SILVA, Gustavo Bauer C. da; HABERMANN, Heraldo M.; SILVA, Adriano Bauer C. da
These types of animals are the least studied by science, which is why they are indiscriminately persecuted in the face of so much lack of information. They exist in almost any type of environment, not only living in cold places, as they are ectothermic. The anatomical characteristics (eyes, head, tail, scales, loreal focula, location of the bite) and identification according to the teeth (aglifas, ospitogrifas, proteroglifas, solenoglifas) are essential for a good recognition and to undo some beliefs. The identification of snakes will facilitate the diagnosis as much as possible so that the appropriate treatment is made, both for people and animals.
