Item Carcinoma de células escamosas em equino na região infra orbitária: relato de caso(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) FARIA, Maéli Ribeiro de; ALVIM, Talita Gonçalves; SANTOS, Thayná Franco dos; AGUIAR, Julia Fernandes; BERALDO, Mariana Ramos AndradeSquamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a cutaneous and malignant neoplasm that affects keratinocytes and commonly affects horses. The etiology of SCC is considered multifactorial, and the majority of lesions are associated with hairless and/or depigmented regions and excessive sun exposure with high local ultraviolet radiation. Macroscopically, this neoplasm may have ulcerations, granulation tissue, a cauliflower appearance or be a firm mass, and invasive growth. The most effective treatment is complete removal of the neoplasm, however, when it is not possible to do so, there is therapeutic treatment. The present work reports a case of a horse, female, 11 years old, chestnut coat, Breton, which was treated at the Veterinary Hospital Dr. Vicente Borelli UNIFEOB. The animal had a neoformation in the ocular region and presented acute abdomen syndrome during treatment, which led to the decision to perform euthanasia.Item Lipidose hepática felina(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) SANTOS, Thayná Franco dos; FARIA, Maeli Ribeiro de; ALVIM, Talita Gonçalves; TORRES, Maria Lúcia MarcucciAlso called Fatty Degeneration, Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (FHL) is a highly fatal hepatobiliary disease that affects domestic cats. The most observed clinical signs are anorexia, weight loss, lethargy, emesis, jaundice and eventually behavioral symptoms, and may also present neurological signs, such as drooling, blindness, seizures and coma (OLIVEIRA; MELLO; VIEIRA, 2017). The diagnosis is based on the patient's history, clinical examination, physical examination and complementary tests such as blood count, biochemistry, ultrasound, radiography, clotting test, liver biopsy, fine needle aspiration and necropsy. The definitive diagnosis is through histopathological analysis (RODRIGUES, 2009). The objective of this work is to carry out a review of the disease, explaining its characteristics, causes, possible treatments and prognosis.Item Lúpus eritematoso sistêmico(Centro Universitário da Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2019-09-18) ALVIM, Talita Gonçalves; FARIA, Maeli Ribeiro de; SANTOS, Thayná Franco dos; MARCUCCI, Maria Lucia TorresSystemic lupus erythematosus is an immune-mediated disease of unknown etiology that has a genetic predisposition, hormonal and immunological involvement and ultraviolet radiation. The symptoms of the disease are erythema, photosensitivity, oral ulcers, arthritis, weakness, pyrexia, and weight loss, in addition to renal, neurological, hemolytic (anemia, leukopenia and lymphopenia) and immunological (antinuclear antibodies) disorders. Clinical treatment is often a challenge, due to the variety of symptoms that are similar in other dermatological and systemic pathologies; for the development of the diagnosis, the symptoms of the disease, the patient's history and specific tests are necessary.
