16 animals from natural death were used in different situations. The techniques used, often traumatic, were injection of 10% formaldehyde followed by injection of latex (blue for the veins and red for the arteries) in the jugular vein and abdominal aorta. The results showed that the liver was dome-shaped in the cranial abdominal region, being macroscopically composed of 5 lobes and histologically similar to other domestic animals. The pancreas is dispersed and has an irregular surface. Its vascularization consisted of pancreatic duodenal, cranial and caudal arteries. Histologically, it presented characteristics similar to the pancreas of domestic species.

(Fundação de Ensino Octávio Bastos, 2022-01-01) VILELA, Luísa; MARTINS, Tássia Sturaro; NOVELLO, Thiago de Andrade; ROQUETO, Marco Antônio
The search for a healthy diet and products free from any animal by-product has become increasingly frequent in the food market. The population is becoming aware and has great concern about health and the environment, so they look for ecologically correct products. The vegan movement has been gaining more and more space in Brazilian society, defending animal rights and seeking a more sustainable lifestyle. It is noteworthy that veganism is a niche found within vegetarianism. In this way, being vegan means not exploiting animals, promoting the lifestyle for the benefits of humans, animals and the environment, ceasing to consume any food that contains animal waste. In Brazil, about 16 million people are associated with this vegetarian population. But, we know that these products free of animal origin, is still a little scarce in the current market, but it has been constantly seeking to evolve in food productions, aimed at this audience. In this way, this work seeks to give more visibility to this new market concept and to the food products that this population has been looking for.

The research aimed to study ectoparasites in bats in three mountain areas in Southeast Brazil. (Serra da Fartura, Serra de Itatiaia, Serra da Bocaina), where 130 hosts were captured with '' nets '' nets which had 48 ectoparasites from the Nycterebilidae, Strebilidae, Spinturnicidae, Polytenidae and Tuncicidae families. Chiropterans have very distinct ectoparasites that range from mites, Diptera, Hemiptera to fleas, so a further study of the relationship of these ectoparasites with other types of hosts should be performed.

Four stomachs were used for macroscopic analysis. Stomachs were measured, photographed and dissected according to biometry and anatomy techniques. The 4 stomachs were similar in terms of their external and internal anatomical characteristics, with greater, lesser curvature and cardiac, funicular and pyloric regions, respectively. The shape was also similar to that of other domestic animals, and there was no statistically significant difference between the equal regions measured or in terms of their height, however, there was variation between two different structures (greater and lesser curvature). It was concluded that the stomachs of mocós are anatomically similar to those of other domestic monogastrics and rodents already studied.

For this research, three hearts and three lungs of mocó (Kerodon rupestris) were used, coming from the ESAM Scientific Creatory (School of Agriculture of Mossoró - CEMAS) accredited at IBAMA RN-12-492-004. These organs were measured and macroscopically analyzed. The right and left lungs were macroscopically similar, with the right lung being slightly larger, spongy, multilobed aspect and involved by the visceral pleura. The right lung had a cranial lobe, medium, caudal and accessory subdivided into lateral and medial portion. The left lung showed the cranial lobe subdivided into a cranial and caudal portion, a caudal lobe and an accessory lobe. The anatomical structures of the mocó heart are similar to those of the carnivores, with a rounded apex, a thick interventricular septum and a more pronounced paraconal interventricular branch of the left coronary artery.

Indirect vegetarianism began millions of years ago, the first reports are dated to about 5 million years ago, where, the most common of the hominid class, the Anamensis had a very different behavior at the time, they fed on fruits, leaves and seeds, living in perfect harmony with the smaller animals, which could easily become prey. Throughout history, vegetarianism has become something social, political and cultural, going beyond the style of eating, many of the great philosophers and thinkers chose not to eat meat in times when such a choice was contrary to the ideas of the ruling class.

brought direct implications for companies. In the laboratory sector, the requirements of consumers are focused on the actions that the organization performs with its biological discards and actions aimed at reducing their negative impacts on environment. With the eyes of stakeholders focused on changes organizations and their impacts on the environment the objective of this work is to analyze the sustainable practices of a clinical analysis laboratory. Currently, much is heard about sustainability in organizations, but it has always been like that. The business sector and ecology were considered more distant. Ecology is considered the science that studies the relationship between organisms living and their environment. For the business world, ecology is considered a support that provides the necessary resources for companies to develop their activities. In the 1990s it was possible to observe a scenario of changes in the worldwide economic and productive process that brought implications for companies. To the transformations in the international economy and the globalization of production and consumption were accompanied by other changes, such as an increase in the level of demand for consumers with the quality of the products offered. With a view to scenario in which more and more stakeholders (the organization's strategic public) require the organization to turn its attention to sustainability it is necessary understand how an organization responds to these pressures.
