To this end, this research sought to investigate the importance of valuing the identity and experiences of institutionalized subjects in old age. Thus, a participant from a LP institution in Vargem Grande do Sul - SP was selected, who, based on the narration and observation of her stories and experiences, verified the statements observed in the literature. However, the case analyzed demystified some of these ideas and presented a new perspective on the concept addressed.
