Education is one of the most important means for the development of a society. School is an important institution that helps in social development, improving students' skills and abilities. In education in general, but especially in Early Childhood Education, play is a methodological resource of utmost importance for children's learning. Games teach content through rules, as they allow children to explore their surroundings, providing enjoyable and meaningful learning, thus adding a lot of knowledge. Within the classroom, it is quite common for students to lack attention and interest in Early Childhood Education. To attract their attention and attract them to the subject, playful and attractive activities help teachers a lot in the school environment and are essential for acquiring and memorizing the content to be taught, in addition to helping them maintain interest in the subject.

This project contributes to Sustainable Development Goal number 4, “Quality Education”, defined by the United Nations (UN). This extension and School Management Practice project is justified by the fact that education is one of the pillars for the social transformation of a country, given its importance and its power to offer conditions for the development of educational practices with children and adolescents in urban and rural communities (ALVES; WECHINEWSKY, 2022).

O Projeto “Pequenos Cientistas do Meio Ambiente” foi pensado para ajudar as crianças a compreenderem a importância de cuidar do mundo em que vivemos de maneira prática, divertida e educativa. O ambiente escolar, onde passamos boa parte do dia, é um lugar perfeito para começar a aprender sobre a natureza, a matemática e podemos como colaborar para proteger o planeta. Durante a atividade, as crianças terão a oportunidade de explorar o pátio da escola, observar folhas, flores, pedras e até resíduos que possam estar no chão. Essa etapa ajuda a perceber como cada elemento faz parte do nosso ambiente e como pequenas ações podem fazer uma grande diferença. Por exemplo, aprenderemos a separar o lixo corretamente, cuidando para que ele não prejudique os animais, as plantas e até mesmo o solo onde pisamos. Além disso, o projeto ensina que a matemática também está presente no cuidado com o meio ambiente!
